Group Sales Coordinators (5 positions):

Various positions are available across the business for Group Sales Coordinators (Temporary, Part-time, Hourly) to oversee, implement and manage the sales of show tickets to groups of 30+, corporate tickets (on consignment) to major employers and to our exhibiting companies and partners.  Group Sales Positions are available in:

 - Orlando, Florida (for 4 Florida shows) reporting to Show Manager, Orlando Home Shows
 - Toronto, Canada (for National Home Show and Fall Home Show) reporting to Tina Homes, Show Manager, Fall Home Show
 - Minneapolis, MN (for 5 shows in Minneapolis, Des Moines, Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City), reporting to Bruce Evans, Marketing Director, US
 - Montreal, Canada (for 2 shows in Montreal & Ottawa), reporting to Helene Cote, Show Manager, Montreal National Home Show

Job Description

Marketplace Metrics, a division of Marketplace Events, is a six sigma based, full service measurement and analysis consultancy serving trade associations, independent show organizers, corporate and retail clients. Though the company utilizes diverse measurement mechanisms, Marketplace Metrics specializes in video measurement and analysis.

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the day-to-day operations of Marketplace Metrics results in our customers’ satisfaction in achieving their goals by using the company’s market-leading measurement and analysis expertise.
  • The OM will work closely with the president of the division to determine organizational structure, operating budgets and policies, hiring priorities and practices, capital expenditures, marketing and related communications, product deliverables, office setup and operations, and all aspects of properly executing the consultancy.
  • The OM will learn the intricacies and nuances of the measurement business from the president and the corporate culture of Marketplace Events from its senior management team.
  • The OM will be a highly-visible individual, who will often speak in public and ultimately be recognized as a primary “face” of the business and an expert in the field.
  • The OM will be the key individual in executing the company’s objectives to create an expanded marketing information business – to package and market actionable data of interest to a much broader business-to-business audience.
  • The OM must lead by example and make it a priority to nurture a culture and environment where employees are productive, responsible, and can grow their professional skills.
  • The OM will be a critical link to the company’s customers, at every stage of the customer relationship: sales, operations, and fulfillment. It is to be expected that the OM will often be the primary communicator of delivering the firm’s final product: measurement and analysis results, benefits, and recommendations for change.
  • The OM must anticipate the need to be on site (i.e., trade event, retail location, conference, etc.) as necessary to manage the operations staff and to ensure client needs are met. In the first year it is estimated that travel could range from 20-50% of the average work week, depending on growth of company.


Skills

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college/university
  • MBA/Six Sigma background desirable but not mandatory
  • People skills: proven ability to successfully select, train and manage staff
  • Strong analytical, communication and math skills
